Welcome to Bodø and this years Open European Championship!
We are thrilled and delighted to invite 50 teams to our event May 13.–17. 2024.
FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) is largest science and technology competition for children and youth and is held in 110 countries. FIRST Scandinavia is an FLL operator, and in 2023 FLL was held in 36 regional tournament cities in Norway and Sweden.
Every season culminates in tournaments around the world, and 50 of these winners that are invited to participate in the world final in Bodø: FIRST® LEGO® League Open European Championship.
FIRST Scandinavia hosted the Open European Championship in 2007, 2009 and 2017 in Bodø, Copenhagen and Aarhus. May 13th to 17th 2024 we will bring the event back to Bodø – and 50 teams from around the world is invited to participate.
Bodø & Salten is the ultimate combination of culture and nature. Here you will find one of Norway’s fastest growing cities, which will be the European Capital of Culture in 2024, located in the middle of magnificent natural gems in the surrounding region. The FIRST Scandinavia foundation has hosted FIRST® LEGO® League since 2000, and OEC BODO 2024 will be our 4th Open European Championship!

This event will not be possible without the fabulous effort from our volunteers. If you are interested in contributing to our event as a judge/referee or volunteer, you may registrer here.
Language
The official language of the event is english.
This mean that all presentations and reports must be written in english, and all communication with judges, referees, volunteers and crew will be in english.

Venues
The robot competition will be held at Stormen Library. The library is a newly opened literary building, and the area where the robot competition will be held has large, beautiful windows overlooking the marina, which will provide a fantastic backdrop for the event.
At the Radisson Blu, the teams will have their stands and have their presentations in front of a judge panel. The modern meeting room facilities we will use for presentations and stand areas are 650 square meters, and the hotel is located next door to Stormen Library.
Evening events will be held on the Svømmehallen stage - a live stage and a cultural center unlike anything else! A place for experiences, cultural production and creativity - and we look forward to hosting the opening ceremony, team party and closing ceremony here.
